Holiday Gift Giving Program for Children (to age 18)
Directory » Holiday Gift Giving Program for Children
Our department provides holiday gifts for children annually. Families register through Clinton Social Services to participate in the program, and income and residency proofs are obtained if your household is not registered through our office. We also reserve the right to obtain updated proofs if needed. Families are given a wishlist worksheet that provides an opportunity to make requests for specific gifts their child/children would like to receive for Christmas, and our office does its best to fulfill items on the wish list, through generous donations from businesses, organizations, and individual donors. Distribution of gifts is done on a specific date/location, and parents also have the opportunity to choose gifts for their children as well. We can provide gift cards for tweens and teens. Contact our office in November to register/complete paperwork.
Want to help us make a child or family’s holiday special? We accept donations of new and unused toys, games, sporting goods equipment, gift cards and clothing through our many giving tree locations in town. Pick a tag from a Giving Tree (locations vary annually), purchase the specific gift listed on the tag that is a specifically requested wish list gift from a Clinton child, and return to the location or to the Social Services office. You can also choose a gift/gifts of your choice to be chosen by a parent for their child during the distribution. Your family, business, or organization may also choose to Adopt a Family– you will be provided with a wish list specific to a family in need, which may include, in addition to toy/clothing items, household needs such as cleaning products, toiletries, etc. Gifts can be provided to parents or other household members as well, to provide a family a bright and joyful holiday. Contact Clinton Social Services with any questions.
